The challenges
As NESO worked towards zero-carbon operation of the GB power system, increasing renewable generation made accurate visibility of grid inertia critical to maintaining system security, reducing conservative assumptions and avoiding costly fossil-fuel backup measures.
The solution
Reactive’s GridVerix®, formerly known as GridMetrix® service provided direct, real-time inertia measurements, supporting NESO’s operational decision-making and its transition toward secure, lower-cost, zero-carbon system operation.
