Building future-ready grids: why real-time stability measurement matters

As the composition of power system changes, gaining a clear view of what is happening on the grid is becoming more important. The growth of renewable energy, inverter-based resources and large loads is reshaping grid behaviour and increasing the need for a more complete view of system conditions.

In an article for Modern Power Systems, our Chief Product Officer Colin Gault highlighted why real-time stability measurement is becoming a critical tool for system operators.

A key message from the article is that better measurement is no longer just about monitoring. It is about giving operators the evidence to validate models, refine stability limits and reduce assumptions.

This is what Reactive Technologies’ GridVerix®, formerly known as GridMetrix® was built for. By measuring inertia, system strength and oscillations across the power system, the platform helps operators build a more complete picture of dynamic grid behaviour.
